Password Protection
Password protection allows you to keep your website private and secure. This feature is perfect for client previews, internal documents, or personal projects that you want to keep secure.
When to use password protection
Password protection is useful in several scenarios:
- Client work: Share website previews with clients before going public
- Internal documents: Keep company resources accessible only to team members
- Personal projects: Protect family photos, private portfolios, or personal content
- Work in progress: Hide unfinished websites while you're still working on them
Setting up password protection
Once your website is live on Creatpad, you can easily add password protection by following these steps:
Step 1: Access your site settings
- Log in to your Creatpad dashboard
- Find your website in the list of sites
- Click on "Manage" next to your site name
- Navigate to the "Password" section in the sidebar
Step 2: Set up password protection
- In the Password section, you'll see a toggle for "Enable Password Protection"
- Enter a secure password that you want visitors to use
- Check the "Enable Password Protection" checkbox
- Click "Save Settings"
Once you enable password protection, all visitors to your website will need to enter the password before they can view your content. Make sure to share the password with people who need access to your site.
Step 3: Test your protected site After enabling password protection:
- Visit your website URL in a new browser window
- You should see a password prompt before accessing your content
- Enter the password you set to verify it's working correctly
Managing your password
Changing your password You can change your password at any time:
- Go back to the Password section in your site settings
- Enter a new password in the password field
- Click "Save Settings"
The new password will take effect immediately.
Disabling password protection To make your site public again:
- Go to the Password section in your site settings
- Uncheck the "Enable Password Protection" checkbox
- Click "Save Settings"
Your site will be immediately accessible to everyone without requiring a password.
